Good luck placing Thea Stewart in any musical genre. She forges a captivating blend of percussive acoustic fingerstyle guitar with folk / world / country / rock / singer/songwriter. By throwing in a dash of insanely talented collaborators springing from all genres and places in the world, she melds a surprising combination of styles, reflected in her unique songs and dynamic sets.

From an early age, Thea gravitated to all types of music, first studying cello, then saxophone, then electric and double bass, before she picked up the guitar. She instantly found a deep kinship with the instrument and quickly began writing as a means to express that which cannot be conveyed through words alone. Studying both classical and flamenco laid the groundwork for her fingerpicking style, but it was her exposure to percussive fingerstyle that shattered any preconception of what is possible to do with a piece of wood and 6 strings.

After years of writing, collaborating with exceptional musicians, and bouncing from the USA to Switzerland, Thea finally found herself in London where the stars aligned, resulting in the first fruits of her labor. New Horizons (EP) will be released in June 2017.
